Description: Hyperion weaponry is possibly the most advanced in the universe. Described here are Hyperion personal weapons, Hyperion armor, and Hyperion ship weaponry.
Personel Weapons
Vacuum Suits- These biomesh armors fit snugly over the wearers skin, and using a combination of plastrofibers and miniature phase-shields, creates an entirely contained environment. Vacuum suits are equipped with highly advanced life support systems, weapons, and sub-systems. Standared weapons are Powered Gauntlet, and a Longsword. Some are also equipped with heavier shielding and stealth devices. A unique ability of Hyperion vacuum suits is that they can temporarily cause the wearer's wings to phase out of existance, to make maneuvering through an enemy vessel much easier.
Hyperion Blades- Made out of a tough titanium-like substance and sharpened to an edge no thicker than a molecule, Hyperion blades are known for their fantastic cutting power. Military blades are also equipped to generate a field of multi-phasic energy around their edges, to lend extra power in tough situations.
Lighthawk talons are special energy blades carried only by high-ranking officers or notable individuals. These lightweight swords have even more cutting power than the strongest Hyperion blades.
Hyperion Dhjara- These tiny weapons are carried by the Clerical caste. Used both for meditation, prayer, and combat, the Dhjara is a versatile weapon and a symbol of the Hyperion religion.
Staff, Polearm, Javelin- These weapons are made out of a denser alloy than the blades, though their cutting edges are no less sharp. Hyperion staves can break down into three sections, connected by a thin shield-chain. Polearms are versatile reach weapons and favored by officers. Javelins are folded up and extend out when about to be thrown. Some are tipped with concussive explosives.
Lighthawk Bow- The Hyperion bow is a unique device. When fully loaded, it generates an energy string. When the string is pulled back, the ammunition is readied and encases itself in a glowing energy shaft similar to an arrow. It generates up to five energy strings, and is able to fire off a five-burst shot at foes. Arrows can be set for standared settings or destrucive settings, in which case they explode upon contact.
Throwing Disc, Powered Disc- These small weapons are thrown at targets, and usuallt deploy cutting blades in flight. A powered disc has a remote assembly and can return to it's owner at the push of a button.
Dart Launcher- These small weapons fire sleep-inducing darts at foes. Hyperions do not believe in debilitating or otherwise fatal poisons, and prefer to render foes unconcious.
Chain Weapon- This is a blade and wieght attached by a fifteen-foot long chain. It can also be used to grapple, though Hyperions rarely make use of this function.
Powered Gauntlet- This device fits over the right hand. It's five-barreled muzzle is capable of firing quick bursts of energy bullets.
Dueling Weapon- This device fits over the left forearm. It is a combination of single-fire energy weapon and a longsword, usually retractable.
Energy Shields- These devices are carried by troopers to help them avoid incoming fire as they close on enemies. Tower shields are used when protected targets are needed to cross a battlefield, or when a particular enplacement needs to be defended.
Ship Weapons: Hyperion ship weaponry, while advanced, comes in only so many varieties, since they perfected their starship weapons long ago. Hyperion weaponry is different from other species in that it isn't actually carried aboard their ships. Precisely one second before firing, interdimensional holes pop open over the ship's surface is pre-programmed locations, and the weapon's fire emanates from there. This gives the illusion that one can target the weapons' systems onboard Hyperion ships, when in fact it is impossible. The energy used in creating these weapons is a unique type of light energy, thought to be mystical in nature. This gives them an unprecedented edge in combating enemy heavy shields, in that they can directly overload the shield generators with concentrated barrages.
Energy Weapons- Hyperion energy weapons come in three different colors, with each color denoting the weapon's strength. Blue is the lowest and has the power of a heavy machinegun. Green is standared among starships, and packs the firepower akin to an earth battleship. Red is the strongest, and can be used to bombard enemy installations from space.
Energy missiles- These flare-like projectiles follow the same rules of color as Hyperion energy weapons. Orange is the lowest, and packs the firepower of a rocket-propelled grenade. Yellow is stronger, and hits like a ballistic missile. White is the strongest, and detnoates with power greater than earth hydrogen weaponry.
Hyperion Armor- While Hyperion ships come in a variety of classes, their greatest similarity is their armor. Hyperion armor is made out of a bio-organic alloy that has the resiliancy of triple strength titanium, but feels as soft as plastic in non-combat situations. Hyperion armor can ensheathe itself in a protective bio-electric field.
Hyperion Shields- Hyperion shields are as fantastic as their weapons. In combat, hundreds of meter-long cylindrical devices are deployed from the ship in a defensive perimeter. These devices project a powerfull multi-phasic energy field that is very difficult to penetrate. In addition, when the ship that's deployed them gains proximity to an enemy vessesl that has it's own shields deployed, the Hyperion shielders can disrupt the enemy defenses and open holes in their shields.
